Police statement follows death of a medical doctor

ContinuingOPENED 2025-01-04

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force said on 4 January that it condemned unverified reports circulating on social media following the death of a medical doctor. The doctor is not named in the police statement, and Newsful does not name the individual. The statement, as summarised in the material available to Newsful, gives no cause of death. It does not state whether a post-mortem has been ordered, whether a coroner has been notified, or whether the death is under criminal investigation. It identifies no legal provision governing the circulation of unverified reports and states no action contemplated against any person. No police officer is named in the statement as summarised. As of 5 January no further police update on the death appears in the material available to Newsful. A death referred for investigation would ordinarily be recorded through police releases and, where an inquest follows, the coroner's proceedings. No reply attempt to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is recorded as of 5 January.
