Three Nevis projects listed without sites, capacity or permits

ContinuingOPENED 2026-01-01

Premier Mark Brantley's 2026 New Year's address listed geothermal energy, water drilling, and hospital development among expected projects for Nevis, according to WINN FM's report of 3 January and the texts published by the Nevis Island Administration and SKN Pulse on 1 January. The published accounts do not record drilling sites, well counts, generating capacity, contractors, permit status, or completion dates for any of the three. For the geothermal project, no wellhead location, no plant site, and no grid connection arrangement appears in the published accounts. For the water drilling, no borehole locations and no hydrological assessment appear. For the hospital development, no facility is named and no description of the works is given. As of 4 January, no statement from the Department of Physical Planning and Environment on permits for any of the three projects appears in the record. Permit records, where they exist, are held by that department; site and capacity detail would ordinarily appear in NIA Ministry of Communications and Works material or Nevis Island Assembly records.
